Who we are
Pillars of Hercules has been here since 1983. Pillars started as an organic market garden and now offers a Cafe, Organic Shop, Campsite and Bothy.
The first 40 years of life at Pillars were with private owners who began a small organic farming business that gradually grew (organically!)
In 2023, ownership changed to local farming company Falkland Rural Enterprises Ltd, which runs as part of a small number of entities running the land, properties and activities at Falkland Estate.
The Pillars Team
As a small but diverse wee business we rely on a committed team of staff who have the skills and enthusiasm needed to run the farm, cafe, shop, campsite and Bothy. From horticulture and land sustainability, to creating great recipes with seasonal produce, to keeping up with the latest and greatest organic and sustainable products, to maintaining the infrastructure - they are a busy bunch!

We believe that the best customer experience comes from the best staff experience. As a business that relies on seasonality, we need staff that work with us to deliver what the season calls for - whether that is in our cafe, shop, or on the farm.

Camping Facilities Update
Important Campsite Update 🚿
Due to some ongoing maintenance issues with our toilet and shower facilities, we currently have fewer amenities available than usual. We are working hard to resolve this as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
In the meantime, guests who choose to proceed with booking our campsite will automatically receive a 10% discount at checkout as a thank you for your understanding.
