Plant Nursery

A real plant nursery

The nursery area is open to browse all year during shop opening times.

From Late March until October, we have a wide range of plants all grown here in peat free, organic compost. Many of our plants are of unusual or heritage varieties.

Plants for all seasons

  • Spring bulbs. Wild flowers and plants for pollinators
  • Veg. transplants such as tomatoes, beans, peas, courgettes, kales and salad leaves
  • Perennial vegetables such as globe artichokes, cardoons, rhubarb & perennial kale.
  • Herbs for cooking and herbs for healing.
  • Annual flowers such as sweet peas (chosen for their scent).
  • Perennials & grasses for your garden.
  • Succulents and alpines

Going plastic free

We use peat-free pots for the veg and herb transplants if at all possible. Others are in recycled and recyclable plastic.

We are also trialling ochre coloured pots made with grain husks which we hope will be sufficiently durable. Plant labels are made from wood.

Security

All plants are guaranteed mouse-free!
